Kicking off with a striking cover that features Green Goblin lifting a defeated, unmasked Spider-Man into the air, this is the first Amazing Spider-Man issue drawn by John Romita. After the departure of Steve Ditko, Romita became the definitive Spider-Man artist, bringing a new look to Spider-Man and Peter Parker that would endure into the 1980s. The Green Goblin’s true identity as Norman Osborn is also revealed in this issue, which is one of the most popular in the legendary Silver Age run.
