In 1962, after nearly a decade of dormancy, the Sub-Mariner returned with a vengeance in this 4th-ever issue of Fantastic Four, and would soon regain the star status he enjoyed during the Golden Age. Namor was a popular presence in many early Fantastic Four adventures, menacing the Fantastic Four even as he vied for Susan Storm’s affection. Subby would go on to be featured within Tales to Astonish, and then received his own title in 1968. Rumors have been circulating about the Sub-Mariner joining the Marvel cinematic universe, and that seems even more likely now that his DC counterpart Aquaman has been featured by DC. If and when that happens we expect interest to skyrocket for this already key 1962 issue.
